Daniel (Dan) Smith has been appointed General Manager of Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok, effective from 1 September 2022. On this new role, with his more than 20 year’s hospitality experience, his passion for excellence and enthusiasm towards luxury hospitality industry, Dan will lead the prestigious team of the resort to future success. Born in New Zealand, Dan expanded his career journey and developed a strong Food and Beverage expertise into different countries from Europe to Asia. In 2009 he was posted in the Maldives and moved to Asia in 2011 where he joined Minor Hotels as Director of Food and Beverage for Anantara Resort and Spa Sanya, China. After a six-month task force mission in Vietnam for the rebranding of Anantara Hoi An and Avani Quy Nhon, Dan was appointed as Executive Assistant Manager for Anantara Hua Hin, Thailand. He joined Accor in 2016 as Resident Manager for Novotel Yangon Max in Myanmar and appointed as General Manager of Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort, the three prestigious international awards in 2018. Aside from being well-travelled, Dan loves architecture, cooking, running and enjoy living a healthy lifestyle.
