Dr. Zoë Fortune

Dr Zoë Fortune is CEO of the City Mental Health Alliance in Hong Kong which she helped found in 2017. The Alliance, which is led by and for businesses, aims to create a culture of good mental health for workers in the city of Hong Kong, increase mental health understanding, and enable businesses to take practical steps. Corporate members are from across legal, financial and professional services industries. Zoë has extensive experience in the field of mental health and holds a PhD in Health Services Research from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London. A researcher by background, she has led research programs across various academic, commercial and not for profit settings and is passionate about using research to ensure an evidence base for program development. Zoe has won awards for her research work and is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. Zoe is an experienced and regular public speaker, has published work in academic journals and the wider media and recently gave a TEDx Talk on mental health at TEDxTinHauWomen. Zoe regularly delivers mental health awareness training and is a qualified instructor in Mental Health First Aid. Zoe is also passionate about the issue of modern slavery and serves as pro-bono research Director for The Mekong Club to support their work to end modern slavery.
