Michael Binger is originally from Germany. After his studies in the UK followed by an MBA in France, he trained in accounting and tax consulting. In 1997 he joined the adidas Group in the HQ Controlling team, and then venture to Asia in 2000 initially as CFO for adidas Asia/Pacific based out of Hong Kong. In 2001 he also acted as interim Managing Director for adidas Philippines. At the beginning of 2004 he was promoted to COO of adidas Asia/Pacific and after the Reebok acquisition, his area of responsibility included the Reebok brand in addition to the adidas brand. At the end of 2007, Michael moved to Singapore to take up the lead the adidas Group in Southeast Asia as Managing Director. At the end of 2009, he took up the position as CEO of Minor Corporation PLC in Bangkok, a leading Thai retailer of international fashion & cosmetics brands, including Esprit, bossini, Charles&Keith, Tumi, LaNeige, Red Earth and Smashbox. In 2010, Michael launched the Gap brand for Minor Corporation in Thailand, and in 2011 he launched an e-commerce joint venture Thaisale.co.th together with one of the leading Australian online retailers.
In 2013, Michael, together with two other founders Adrian Cai and Angelica Suiza, opened Triple Pte Ltd with the goal of becoming one of ASEAN’s most innovative sports and lifestyle company with multiple consumer touch points and experiences. Triple Pte Ltd was awarded the distribution rights of Under Armour in Southeast Asia. Triple’s distribution network covers all key markets in Southeast Asia. Triple’s mission is to empower people in Southeast Asia to live their personal athletic experience through people, products, and programmes, all centred around sports and athleisure. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President, South East Asia for Under Armour.
