Nathan Hyland manages the International Department for the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He engages fitness communities around the globe with partnerships in over 40 countries. Since 2012, Nathan has served in a variety of roles at NASM including Live Events Manager, Retention Manager, and Education Counselor. A few of his highlights include proposing and pioneering the Retention Department, scaling the Gymternship program to 28 states, and promoting the launch of NASM’s first virtual classroom. Further, Nathan sits on the NASM Wellness Committee where he assists his identical twin brother and Master Trainer, Nolan Hyland, in the company wide employee health and fitness initiative. In March of last year, Nathan was selected as one of IHRSA’s 2020 35 and under “Rising Stars” in the Fitness Industry. He is also an accomplished martial artist with two US National Championships in Brazilian Jiujitsu and ranks in Arizona MMA’s top 10 amateur lightweight division. He also volunteers as a boxing coach in an after school mentoring program for at-risk youth in Phoenix, Arizona. Nathan has both his MBA/BSBA (Duquesne University) and Master’s in Exercise Science (CalU) as well holding certifications: NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach, Certified Nutrition Coach, and is Strong Nation Licensed.
